IB Program

The IB Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum, primarly aimed at students aged 16 to 19. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world's leading universities.

 

Students learn more than a collection of facts. The Diploma Programme prepares students for university and encourages them to:

1) ask challenging questions

2) learn how to learn

3) develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture

4) develop the ability to communicate with and understand people from other countries and cultures

 

The curriculum contains six subject groups together with a core made up of three separate parts. 

Group 1: Language A1 (English)

Group 2: Second Language (French or Japanese at PHS)

Group 3: Individuals and Societies

Group 4: Experimental sciences

Group 5: Mathematics and computer science

Group 6: The arts

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS IN LANGUAGES: 

Take French or Japanese (9th and 10th grade)

 

Note: Students who are not pursuing the Full Diploma have the option to take the exam for any IB class in Which they are enrolled for a "certificate".
